The Look
The 1884 Chief Red Wolf buckle draws from one of Bohlin’s historic figure designs, centering the composition on the portrait of Chief Red Wolf—an iconic presence from Buffalo Bill’s Wild West show and a figure closely tied to Edward Bohlin’s early work.
Set within the 1884 blank, the figure is overlaid in three-color gold, creating contrast and dimension against a hand-engraved sterling silver field. The surrounding scrollwork frames the portrait, balancing the detail of the figure with the movement of the engraving. A raised border completes the composition, giving the piece a defined edge while emphasizing the depth between layers.

Care
Bohlin buckles are made to be worn, not just displayed. Crafted from solid precious metals with hand-finished details, each piece is intended to develop a natural patina over time — a signature of heirloom-quality silver and gold.
To clean, gently wipe with a soft, non-abrasive cloth and, if needed, use mild diluted soap and warm water to remove surface dirt. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before storing.
Avoid chemical polishes or ultrasonic cleaners, as they can damage intentional finishes, inlays, and natural oxidation. Patina is part of the story — let it evolve with you.
